Birds Welfare and Sustainable farming Practices

At KEYON FARMS, we are committed to sustainable farming practices and environmental conservation. In addition to our focus on bird welfare, we have implemented various initiatives to reduce our environmental footprint and promote resource efficiency.

One of our key sustainability features is the presence of an underground water tank that efficiently collects rainwater. This allows us to harness natural precipitation and utilize it for various purposes, such watering, and cleaning reducing our reliance on external water sources.

To effectively manage waste, we have an incinerator in place, ensuring proper disposal of organic waste materials. This helps minimize the environmental impact and ensures responsible waste management practices within our farm.

We also have three 5000ml standing water tanks strategically positioned throughout the farm. These tanks provide a reliable water supply for our birds and other farm operations, reducing the need for excessive water consumption.

As part of our commitment to energy efficiency, we have incorporated solar lamps into our infrastructure that serve like security lamps and backup during power outages. These solar-powered lights not only provide sustainable lighting solutions but also contribute to reducing our reliance on conventional energy sources.

Furthermore, we actively work towards minimizing the use of charcoal in our farm operations. We understand the environmental implications of charcoal consumption, and as such, we seek alternative and more sustainable energy sources. By exploring renewable energy options and utilizing energy-efficient technologies like cold sausage smoking, we aim to reduce our reliance on charcoal and promote a greener and more eco-friendly farming approach.

We are dedicated to implementing innovative and sustainable practices to minimize waste and maximize resource utilization. As part of our commitment to responsible farming, we have developed a system where we repurpose some of the waste chicken parts from our processed chicken into our feed production.

By incorporating these waste chicken parts into our feed making process, we not only reduce waste but also create a closed-loop system where valuable nutrients are recycled and utilized efficiently. This practice not only contributes to minimizing our environmental impact but also enhances the nutritional value of our feed, ensuring optimal health and well-being for our birds.

By integrating these sustainable features into our farm operations, we are actively working towards minimizing our environmental footprint, conserving resources, and promoting a more sustainable and eco-friendly farming system.
